This property was improved in two separate projects. 

 

The first was to convert a dilapidated creekside carriage house into a proper second unit.  The aspect of the existing carriage house to be retained was its footprint on the property.  The lower level of the new structure consists of a kitchen and dining area open to a living room complete with a fireplace.  These spaces open to a porch facing the lawn. One bath completes the level.  Upstairs is a large bedroom space and a bath. 

The second project was to completely remove the entire upper floor of the main residence and reconfigure the layout.  This included a new ensuite guest room over the 3-car garage.  All of this was accomplished while the family continued to live on the main and lower floors of the house.

Many of the main level rooms were updated.  The front porch of the house was redone as well

In all, the main house consists of large living and dining rooms separated by columns, a chef's kitchen, a large family room opening onto terraces leading to the pool.  There are six ensuite bedrooms (seven with the ensuite guest room) and a large laundry room.
